Mohammad Rizwan undergoes MRI after India match

Following Pakistan’s five-wicket against India in the Asia Cup on Sunday, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan was sent for scans.
Rizwan suffered a right knee strain after he landed in an awkward position in the 15th over of India’s innings.
The wicketkeeper was given immediate first aid as he was in pain. Even though he was clearly hobbling, Rizwan went on to bat and made an important contribution for Pakistan, functioning as a pillar in the run chase with a 51-ball 71.
According to several accounts, Rizwan got an MRI scan following the game, but a follow-up scan has been recommended as a preventative measure.
Rizwan leads the Asia Cup 2022 run-scorers with 192 runs, including two fifties in three matches. The opener also has the most T20I runs (1521) in men’s T20Is since the start of 2021.
Multiple injuries have plagued Pakistan in the 2017 Asia Cup, with star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi ruled out before the competition and the likes of Mohammad Wasim and Shahnawaz Dahani sidelined during the event.
Pakistan will face Afghanistan in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2022 on Wednesday.
