Fakhar Zaman added to Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad

Fakhar Zaman, who earlier missed a spot in Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad due to an injury, has been recovered and named in the final 15.
The left-arm top-order batter will replace leg-spinner Usman Qadir who sustained an injury during the bilateral series against England. Fakhar was part of Pakistan’s travelling reserves for the World Cup. Now, Qadir will be added to the reserves in his place.
Qadir received an injury during the fifth T20 against England. In a statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that Usman will remain unavailable for selection till October 22. Pakistan is set to meet arch-rivals India in their opening match of the T20 World Cup on October 23.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s fast bowling spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi, who has been undergoing a rehab process in England following a knee injury, has also fully recovered. The cricket board said that Shaheen will join Pakistan’s squad in Australia on October 15, in Brisbane. Both Fakhar and Shaheen will be available for Pakistan’s warm-up fixtures against England and Afghanistan on October 17, and 19.
