India to travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023

There is finally some exciting news for cricket fans. India is likely to travel to Pakistan next year.

Pakistan are scheduled to host Asia Cup 2023 and India will host the T20 World Cup the next year. The two sides haven’t played a bilateral series since 2012-13 and only play each other in ICC, and ACC tournaments.

India have not visited Pakistan since 2008. However, this time team India might visit Pakistan next year for the Asia Cup 2023.

According to reports in Indian media, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has plans to visit Pakistan subject to clearance from the government.

According to Wion News, the BCCI has hinted at its plans in a note sent to the state associations before the annual meeting next week.

As per CircBuzz, not much was revealed on this matter, but the BCCI is making its plans keeping the Asia Cup 2023 in mind.

It is noteworthy that BCCI’s secretary Jay is currently the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

An Indian cricket board official told CricBuzz that the tour will be subject to clearance of the government, but the Indian cricket team’s visit to Pakistan was certainly on their agenda.

The two arch-rivals recently played two games in the Asia Cup 2022, and one won one each. They are now scheduled to face each other in the T20 World Cup in Australia on October 23.
