PCB gives update on Shan Masood’s injury

Pakistan’s top order batter Shan Masood has been declared clear of any major injury after being hit on the head during the practice session earlier on Friday.

Masood was rushed to the hospital after a blow to his head during a training session in Melbourne. Later, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that his scans showed only superficial bruises.

It added that Masood’s neurological observations were fine and that there were no symptoms of concussion.

Masood fell to the ground when a powerful shot from Mohammad Nawaz hit him on the head. He was not batting at the time. Team doctors attended him, and later, rushed him to the hospital, where different scans were run on him.

Fakhar Zaman added to Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad

The cricket board, however, did not clarify whether he would be available for selection for the October 23 game against India in the T20 World Cup. If he doesn’t recover in time, Fakhar Zaman would be added to the final XI.
