New Zealand outclassed Australia in their opening match of the T20 World Cup, beating the hosts comprehensively by 89 runs at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in Sydney.
Batting first, New Zealand marched to 200/3 runs thanks to a brilliant knock of 92* from wicketkeeper-batter Devon Conway.
In response, Australia’s top order failed to deliver as they were bundled out for just 111 with 17 balls to spare. No Aussie batter, barring Glen Maxwell (28) and Pat Cummins (21) surpassed the 20-run mark.
