Ben Stokes surpasses McCullum’s record of most sixes in Test cricket

England Test skipper Ben Stokes on Saturday surpassed former Kiwi captain and current English coach Brendon McCullum’s world record for the highest number of sixes in Test cricket on the third day of England’s match against New Zealand.

In search of big shots to maximize the lead, Stokes charged Scott Kuggeleijn and smashed him over the fine leg boundary for a huge six.
With that maximum, he achieved the landmark of 108 sixes in Test cricket. He burst into a smile after being conveyed that he had smashed his coach’s world record. Stokes took 90 Tests to achieve the milestone. McCullum had hit 107 in 85-match Test career spanning over 12 years.
